Construction Lead Hand

Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Site Supervisor to join our construction team. The Lead Hand will be responsible for supporting the Site Supervisor in overseeing day-to-day operations at our construction site. Must be comfortable with Physical labour on a daily basis.
This role requires a strong focus on health and safety, effective site logistics, efficient material handling, contractor support, completion of construction tasks, and supervision of laborers.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Health and Safety: - Assist in implementing and enforcing health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. - Conduct regular safety inspections and hazard assessments. - Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
2. Site Logistics: - Coordinate and manage site logistics including equipment, materials, and personnel. - Optimize workflow and ensure efficient use of resources. - Maintain organized site layout and cleanliness.
3. Material Handling: - Receive, inspect, and manage deliveries of construction materials. - Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials. - Monitor inventory levels and order materials as needed.
4. Contractor Support: - Support the Site Supervisor in overseeing subcontractors and ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards. - Facilitate communication between subcontractors and project team members. - Address any issues or concerns raised by subcontractors promptly.
5. Complete Construction Tasks: - Assist in the execution of construction tasks as directed by the Site Supervisor. - Ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget. - Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality.
6. Manage Labourers: - Supervise and coordinate the activities of laborers on site. - Allocate tasks and provide guidance to laborers. - Monitor productivity and performance of laborers.
7. Administrative Duties: - Assist in preparing daily progress reports, work schedules, and other documentation as required.
- Maintain accurate records of construction activities, materials used, and labor hours.
- Assist in the procurement of permits and licenses as necessary. Requirements:
- Proven experience in a construction-related role, preferably as an assistant site supervisor or similar.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices in construction. - Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Experience with various tools and heavy equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office and construction management software is desirable.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, or other relevant training is a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
