_Heavy Civil Foreman/Site Supervisor _
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- **Safety Leadership**: Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies. Promote a proactive safety culture on the job site.
- **Project Oversight**: Plan and manage all aspects of construction.
- **Crew Management**: Supervise and direct their crew, ensuring efficient and high-quality work. Provide clear instructions and guidance to team members.
- **Quality Control**: Monitor and inspect work to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- **Scheduling**: Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, coordinating with other trades and subcontractors to ensure timely completion.
- **Cost Control**: Track project costs and identify potential savings opportunities.
- **Equipment Management**: Oversee the use and maintenance of equipment and tools.
- **Reporting**: Prepare daily reports on project progress, safety incidents, and any issues that arise.
- **Communication**: Maintain clear and effective communication with project stakeholders, including management, project coordinators, and inspectors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- **Experience**: Must possess at least five (5) years in construction with a minimum of one (1) year of direct management/supervisory experience of direct reports. Three (3) or more years preferred.
- **Technical Skills**: A working knowledge of project construction scope and objectives to include water/sewer/road construction and reconstruction. An understanding of concrete placement and finishing, asphalt placement, etc is considered an asset.
- **Leadership**: Proven ability to lead and motivate crews, delegate tasks effectively, and maintain a positive work environment. Must possess a strong knowledge of scheduling and planning, and excellent time management skills.
- **Problem-Solving**: Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- **Safety**: Commitment to safety and a thorough understanding of relevant regulations.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:
- Valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record.
- A working knowledge of heavy civil project construction scope and objectives.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and interpret specifications for the project.
- Physical ability to perform demanding work on a construction site.
- Ability to work on average ten (10) hours per day, five days (and occasionally six
- days) per week.
COMPENSATION:
- Excellent wage with pension and benefits.
- Company pickup truck and fuel card.
- Starting hourly rate will be determined by experience.
