**Talent Development Specialist**
**Overview**:
The **Talent Development Specialist** will support the implementation of innovative learning and organizational development activities that support the achievement of business results in all areas of Spark. Reporting to the Talent Development Manager, the specialist helps to assess learning needs, design, and report on development needs in the business. In addition, the incumbent will support the delivery of outreach for apprenticeship framework development and training throughout Spark.
**Here's what you will do as a Talent Development Specialist**:
- Works closely with the Talent Development Manager to support the development of annual learning plans and delivery of L&D initiatives across the organization.
- Facilitates and/or co-ordinates the implementation of training programs (in-class, e-learning and virtual) as required
- Design, develop, author, narrate, record, edit, and implement training content and e-learning including handouts, checklists, manuals, tests/quizzes, presentations, scripts, video, audio, etc.
- Executes on designed apprenticeship framework and development plans for key areas of talent in Spark
- Facilitate working sessions to co-create learning program design in collaboration with SMEs and stakeholders; facilitate education sessions (both virtual and in-person)
- Works with internal and external stakeholders to develop learning initiatives
- Develops mechanisms and tools to assess and evaluate learning initiatives while implementing feedback opportunities to support on executing project plans for continued improvements.
- Keeps abreast of relevant legislative requirements, adult education trends, and corporate learning trends
- Provides excellent customer service to all stakeholders across the organization and external service providing vendors
- Developing communications regarding frameworks, and program implementation
- Assisting with reports and metrics by creating, managing, and analyzing key training metrics and the use of dashboards and reporting to measure training effectiveness.

**Do you have the Spark? Here's what we are looking for**:
- 2-3 years of experience in training and development
- 2-3 years of experience in event planning and/or project management
- Knowledge of LMS (Docebo or a cloud-based platform is preferred), training authoring tools (Articulate 360 is preferred), project management and adult education is preferred
- Experience in the development/implementation of training and development programs, assessment tools, training/curriculum design and evaluation
- Experience in designing and developing eLearning content is an asset
- Excellent written communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt positively to a changing environment and shifting priorities
- Strong focus on respectful and inclusive service
- Must be a self-starter who shows initiative, agility, flexibility, and innovation
- Excellent time management skills in prioritizing work assignments and meeting tight deadlines
- Superior organizational skills; able to deal with multiple responsibilities effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Word and advanced experience with Excel and Power Point
- Knowledge of policies and legislation related to staff relations/development an asset (e.g. human resources policies, human rights, WHMIS, Health & Safety)
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which can include lifting and transporting equipment and materials
- Able to travel as required; holds a valid driver's license
