Job Summary
- This role directly reports to the Production Engineer:

- To lead and mentor a team of 6 Maintenance Technicians in a manufacturing environment to meet or exceed set goals and objectives in minimizing downtimes and failures of industrial machinery and equipment in accordance with established maintenance standards, safety procedures, and company policies to ensure their reliability and uptime.

**Job Description**:

- Provides technical assistance to maintenance technicians and ensure they follow maintenance and safety procedures while performing their responsibilities
- Handles emergency situations or after-hours calls for machine failures and contacts Contractors if needed for their immediate repair
- Coordinates, plans, directs and organizes tasks for Maintenance Technicians related to the maintenance of buildings and equipment
- Coordinates and communicates all installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery with the Production Department
- Plans, prioritizes, assigns, and participates in all tasks related to equipment maintenance
- Reads blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Installs, aligns, dismantles, and moves stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
- Repair and overhaul electrical and mechanical systems on machinery and replace and align moving parts as required
- Detect defects and excessive wear in machinery component parts in dimensions and shapes and schedule their timely replacement
- Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic control
- Supervise / Assist in assembling machinery and equipment installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment
- Confers with management to recommend equipment changes and modifications and evaluate new equipment
- Maintains documentation of all equipment records, e.g. downtime-related issues, service repair reports, upgrades, certifications, and inspections

Skills and Qualifications:

- Certified Millwright and a Red Seal holder is an asset
- Must have 5 - 10 years of experience in a leadership role
- Ability to identify issues and decide on required actions
- Competence to plan maintenance schedules
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and delegation skills
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Competency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite
- Analytical and Critical-thinking skills

Monday to Friday 8am to 5 pm. Schedule may vary from time to time.
