In this role as Manager, Office of the Monitor, you will act in a supporting role to the Group and when appropriate will lead in communicating Monitor requests to various Bank stakeholders. You will partner closely with all stakeholders across all three lines of defense, particularly in Global Banking and Markets and Global Compliance, to ensure the Bank meets both its obligations and the Monitors expectations on a proactive basis. You will ensure that the Bank maintains transparent, positive and open relationships with the monitor and their team **Is this role right for you? You will be responsible for**: - Assist in coordinating and administering interactions required by the monitor and their team, with applicable BNS employees as the Monitor may request; - Interact with the Monitor when appropriate to ensure requests are fully understood - Provide support for establishing appropriate content and lead in the development of format for regular updates and reporting to key stakeholders and senior management committees, including preparation of required presentations on Monitor activities. - Providing guidance to Bank personnel in connection with the Monitor team requests; - Attending, monitoring, and lead in communicating results to Group head. - Ensuring key communications to the Monitor is responsive and complete; - Tracking Monitor requests and coordinating with business stakeholders to meet required deliverable deadlines; ensuring that submissions maintain a consistent message and tone; - Lead in maintaining a repository of information related to the Monitor office, including all communication and tracking activities. - Advising key stakeholders on the drafting of presentations and responses ; and - Supports oversight of remediation activities, including: - Coordinating and tracking the institution’s responses to findings with the RIG - Advising business lines on remediation activities to ensure consistency with Monitor expectations; - Informing senior management on progress toward closure of findings and any associated delays; and - Ensuring that communication regarding remediation of suggested enhancements is clearly articulated and transparent. **Do you have the skills you need to succeed? We'd love to work with you, if you have**: - Bachelor’s degree. - At least three years of experience at a regulatory agency such as the FRB, CFTC, or NFA, or in a similar position in the financial services industry or Regulatory Affairs backgroud - An understanding of financial markets, products and control functions. - Strong written and oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively guide internal partners. - Strong planning and organization skills. - Ability to work independently and effectively with both regulatory staff and senior firm personnel. - Sound judgment in identifying risks in order to proactively escalate with relevant senior management. - Professionalism, sensitivity, and discretion required. - Ability to solve problems, multi-task and manage changing priorities. - Detail-oriented. - Collaborative team player. - Strong Office productivity skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint) Location(s): Canada : Ontario : Toronto Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
