- How your role will add to the story:

- We are looking for a Paralegal. You will be expected to manage all product liability related litigation files and establish processes to successfully manage this workload. You will also be required to coordinate with both MBAG and MBUSA related departments on highly sensitive legal and technical topics. You will report directly to the General Counsel, and will also have the opportunity to work with different business functions, including but not limited to, customer service, warranty & technical services, compliance and regulatory.
- A day in the life:
- On most days you will manage all incoming litigation files as they relate to product liability i.e. collecting information, drafting pleadings, coordinating inspection of vehicle(s) if required, prepping individuals for court or examinations, meeting court deadlines, attending hearings, etc.
- You will manage all insurance litigation claims - demo/dealer damages, slip and fall claims, third party, etc.
- Some days you’ll review and assess all incoming customer complaints that meet reporting threshold for product liability (vehicle defects including airbag deployments, braking issues, vehicle fires, etc.)
- You will review and respond accordingly to all legal demand letters and vehicle insurance subrogation matters
- There’s always a chance you’ll be involved in reviewing correspondence drafted by Dept. Head to Transport Canada regarding inquiries on vehicle complaints
- You will process key fob requests - review and assess production orders for accuracy, order keys from Theft Relevant Parts (Parts Technical), facilitate payment and shipment with applicable business units
- You will implement and maintain ICS Controls for Legal Department
- Set up any new vendors for Legal Dept. as required

- Mercedes-Benz Fan skills, requirements & traits:
- Bachelor of Arts or Paralegal Diploma or Law Clerk Diploma
- Must be a Licensed Paralegal (Law Society of Ontario)
- Experience working in both the private (large corporation) and public (government)
- Knowledge in Motor Vehicle Issues, Small Claims (civil action matters), Intellectual Property/Real Property Matters
