2nd Steps, a program under Sanctum Care Group, offers independent living and assessment suites for high-risk families. We are hiring casual Support Workers for day, evening, and night shifts.

Support Workers primarily serve in the assessment program while also overseeing independent living suites. They assist families in building routines, developing life skills, accessing resources, and parenting, all within a harm reduction and trauma-informed framework. Support Workers ensure clients follow program guidelines while fostering a supportive, respectful environment.

**Supportive living staff Requirements & Responsibilities**:
The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge of:

- Harm Reduction & Trauma and Violence Informed Care.
- Mental health & Addictions
- Child Protection Act
- Experience working with children is an asset
- Community agencies and related support services
- Must retain active CPR and First Aid certification.
- Clear communication skills, teamwork, and relationship building.
- Strong Decision-making in varying situations
- Naloxone Training is an asset.
- OHS standards knowledge is an asset.

**Responsibilities**:

- Data entry & charting shift report
- Assessing family dynamics
- Teaching of daily life skills
- Provide individual support and facilitate case plan as directed by clinical team.
- Maintain Current tenant supports & Contacts information.
- Support tenants with: Referrals for rides, food services, formula and or baby needs & other
- Check in with all tenants residing at the apartment building.
- Enforce and uphold lease agreements & program rules with residents.
- Regular monitoring of security cameras to ensure safety of residents and guests.
- Routine Building Checks: ensuring all hallways, stairwells are clear, exterior doors are locked, Vacant suites are locked.
- Cleanliness - Cleaning garbage or sharps in or around the building. General cleaning duties.
- Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures when necessary (Fire, smoke flooding, etc.)
- Ensuring safety of residents, contacting authorities if required.

**Job Types**: Permanent, Casual

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
