The opportunity
We are currently hiring for a Full time SILP worker to join our team to work in the community of Saskatoon. Under the direction of the Program Manager, the SILP Worker will be responsible for supporting and maintaining a home-like environment for individuals to live independently. The SILP Worker will be responsible for maintaining and promoting physical care, menu planning and preparation, medication administration, day-to-day house management, record keeping, etc.
The SILP worker will support individuals in a variety of settings. This may include the supported individuals’ own apartments/homes, shelters, and outreach support.
SILP worker supports individuals that may have complex diagnosis.
The SILP Worker will support individuals by promoting their involvement with family, friends, advocates and the community to ensure that their comfort, safety, and health requirements are being met. The SILP Worker will also encourage individuals to develop individual skills, talents and abilities so that they may have maximum control over their own life.
SILP Workers are responsible for ensuring that the service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies and industry standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Ensuring that they are connected to family, friends, and community.
Promoting opportunities with making meaningful choices.
Provide all personal support care as outlined in the support plan.
Key components in your role of actively supporting individuals include:
Recognizing moments of potential in developing skills and knowledge.
Providing just the right amount of assistance to guide but develop independence as well.
Promoting opportunities for healthy personal choice and decision making.
As a Community Support Worker, you function as part of a team in demonstrating and ensuring that Individuals are provided personal and social opportunities and options which enhance their quality of life.
