Working with and learning about the growing of plants of every kind and sharing your enthusiasm for them with our customers is interesting, fast paced, physical and filled with variety - and there's nothing quite like being outdoors to see the beauty that you will see develop around you on our 6 acre location as a result of your efforts. After 60 years in operation, we know it's an easy thing to love.

The successful addition to our team will be in good physical condition and will appreciate and contribute to the positive attitude we have worked hard here to establish. Previous and recent outdoor work experience is a **requirement.** Preference will be given to those with recent horticultural experience (this includes the knowledge and ability to care for a wide range of plant material including annuals and herbaceous perennials, trees, shrubs and evergreens). No one can know everything (we continue to learn here everyday) and those who show a keen desire to learn will find that our team is exceptional at improving your skills and knowledge. Horticultural technician apprentices and GROW program participants are very much welcome to apply.

Duties include hands on work with the many thousands of varieties of plants sold and grown on the premises including, tagging, watering, weeding, potting, fertilizing, pruning as well as the unloading of delivery vehicles. This work is largely done outdoors or in our many greenhouses/polyhouses/barns, but it is neither field work nor orchard work.

This seasonal full time horticultural position runs from mid-March until September with further work available through the fall and through our busy Christmas season. A permanent year round role is available to the right career-seeking individual. Hours of work does vary through the season. Days can be long during our peak season, but work shifts are more flexible off peak with shorter shifts/rotating weekends/vacation times off in the summer and fall. Being available to work weekends during our peak spring season is a **requirement** for the position.

**Salary**: $18.75-$19.75 per hour

Expected hours: 45 - 56 per week
