VMAC has an opening for a temporary, part-time Receptionist. In this capacity, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, ensuring a warm welcome and efficient handling of inquiries. Your attention to detail and strong communication skills will be instrumental in managing administrative tasks and assisting with various projects as needed. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in a professional setting while providing essential support to our team and clients. This position will operate sixteen hours per week with the likelihood for more hours when workload permits and holiday coverage is needed.
**Responsibilities**:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- Check for messages each morning and forward to appropriate staff member.
- Ensure all visitors sign in and are issued visitor badges.
- Perform minor clerical duties such as document processing, data base entries, and filing.
- May be required to perform special tasks for other departments of the organization.
- Distribute incoming faxes to appropriate staff members.
- Maintain employee sign-out register.
- Record employee vacations and absences.
- Operate company switchboard and direct calls to appropriate staff members.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- Secondary school diploma.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage or build quick rapport with clients.
- Strong clerical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with front desk operations.
