SLACAN Industries Inc. is Canada's largest designer and manufacturer of Pole line Hardware, which includes a full line of Transmission and Distribution products. We service the OEM market including the agricultural, mining and other industries. Our in-house processes include forgings, hot / cold stampings and weldments.

Our Company is currently looking for **Controller** to join our team.

**Position Overview**
- To provide leadership in the areas of Finance, Human Resources and IT departments.
- To assist and guide projects determined by Engineering, Production, Purchasing and Sales when requested.
- To direct and coordinate the collection and preparation of all accounting and audit requirements and advice through assistance of KPMG on any tax issues.
- To consult on general business issues and investment opportunities when requested by the President or Owner as required.

**Responsibilities**

**Financial**:

- To provide full record keeping, statement development, banking and treasury functions as well as business advice through project analysis and reviews.
- To meet with outside resources on legal and insurance matters on company assets as well as employee benefits.
- Ensure company compliance with all government regulations, tax collection and remittance.

**Human Resources**:

- Directing and ensuring the security of the payroll function, dealing with all union issues involving general administration and contract as required.
- Through Payroll/HR Coordinator, control of benefits administration, STD/LTD claims, Pension(Hourly & Salaried), training records, attendance and maintenance of employee files.
- Participate in union contract negotiations.

**Information Technology**:

- This position through the IT Manager must ensure the integrity of equipment and software to be current and efficient to generate data to be used in day to day activities to support the business.

**Knowledge and Experience**
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field accompanied with a recognized Accounting designation (CPA,CA,CMA,CGA)
- Minimum of 10 years’ of experience in a senior level accounting or finance role in a manufacturing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, internal audit, budgeting and cost control principles.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Knowledge of federal, provincial and taxation requirements and reporting..
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, forecasting and product line profitability analysis.
- Hands on individual with strong time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
