Anaya Arts is an innovative art brand located in Ottawa in search of sales associates to join the team at our shop at the Rideau Shopping Centre. We primarily sell wall art, as well as art-based apparel and accessories.

As an Assistant Manager you will report directly to the Store Manager. You will work as part of the team to deliver outstanding customer experiences that ultimately result in achieving your sales goals. The Assistant Manager represents the brand, operates in a professional manner, engages customers, and supports teamwork. Experience in a department store/mall environment required.
**Responsibilities**:
- Drive sales and meet or exceed sales targets
- Lead and manage a team of retail store associates
- Provide sales training and coaching to team members
- Ensure store appearance and visual merchandising standards are met
- Maintain inventory and stock levels
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints
- Assist in the management of the store budget and expenses
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of new team members
- Participate in the store's daily operations and decision making
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the retail industry
- Experience leading a team in a retail setting
- Strong sales experience and a sales drive
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Adherence to all Covid health and safety measures
- Passion for art and a willingness to learn more about Anaya Arts product offerings
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- On call
- Weekend availability
Supplemental pay types:
- Bonus pay
Ability to commute/relocate:
- OTTAWA, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Retail management: 3 years (required)
