Giatec Scientific Inc. (Giatec) is seeking an **Intermediate Quality Assurance (QA) and Automation Specialist** to join our SmartMix team to build the next generation of our web solutions. As an Intermediate QA and Automation Specialist, you will be a key part of our development team. You will be collaborating with your team as well as other teams to develop first class, usable, reliable solutions that serve our customers.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Work as part of a software development team, ensuring that quality and usability goals are being met.
- Embedded in a software development team as the quality advocate bringing the quality mindset to the team.
- Participate in and contribute to software design, validation, and release activities.
- Participate in Agile development practices as part of the SDLC.
- Contribute to establishing and communicating metrics about quality and overall product health.
- Own the testing strategy and effort of a feature from requirements definition through its release.
- Contribute to our automation effort and other quality best practices within the Software Team.

**REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- 5+ years in test plan development and execution for enterprise web solutions
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science /Software Engineering or equivalent
- Strong functional testing skills from a customer perspective
- Detail-oriented individual with the ability to adapt the level of detail required according to the problem.
- Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Core knowledge of software quality validation and verification techniques
- _Hands on experience using and developing automated testing frameworks like Cypress, PyTest, Selenium, Karma, Robot (an asset)._
- _Experience with test case management and quality process improvements (an asset)_
- _Scale, performance and stability testing experience (an asset)_
