Veterinary Receptionist

**Crossroads Veterinary Clinic** is seeking a friendly, team orientated and passionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our growing practice in Thunder Bay. Crossroads is a team centered multi-veterinarian hospital engaged in offering patient centered service in Northwestern Ontario. We care for every pet as if it were our own.

Our veterinary professionals are dedicated to excellence in medicine, surgical care, and diagnostics. We are pleased to offer in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, ultrasound, laser therapy and dentistry in a beautifully renovated and expanded hospital.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Greeting clients in friendly, courteous and professional manner
- Admitting surgeries, drop-off and appointments for the day
- Reviewing post-surgery instructions and medications with clients
- Preparing prescriptions
- Assisting with the scheduling of daily appointments and surgeries
- General duties such as restocking, sanitizing and cleaning

Qualifications:

- The ability to strengthen the human-animal veterinary bond through exceptional care whether it is in person or on the phone, as well as the ability to handle upset or difficult clients in a tactful and respectful manner
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Prior knowledge of or the ability to learn medical terminology and veterinary software program.
- Comfortable handling animals with varying temperaments
- Ability to work within a fast paced environment, with multiple phone lines
- Strong computer skills; working with practice management software an asset
- Must be able to work **Monday - Saturday**
