Position profile

As the HR Administrative Assistant you would work along side our industry leading team of professionals in the seamless delivery of our security services. You would oversee the Human Resources for our Ottawa office (HQ) which would included; employee/employer relations, recruitment, reception and administration, hiring/interviewing, overseeing employee group benefits, compliance of Employment Standards Act (ESA), Canadian Labour Laws, and Union Collective Agreement.

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to)
- All inbound and outbound recruitment for uniformed and administrative staff;
- Coordinating group health benefits with employees and corporate benefit provider(s);
- Scheduling and conducting regular interviews, working with Operational Management to meet the needs and requirements for staffing;
- Ensuring company HR documentation, employment contracts, employee files, general HR policies and procedures are created, maintained and compliant with ESA.
- Overseeing any Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB) file and/or claims;
- Creating corporate strategies relating to Human Recourses, employee retention, employment satisfaction, and employee assistance programs;
- Consulting regularly with President, Vice President, General Manager and all Senior Management on HR related items; including setting corporate standards, goals, and planning;
- Maintaining and promoting a professional image while representing the company and reflecting its values, standards and best practices;

**Qualifications**:

- A confident and energetic people person, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to promote value, inspire confidence and relate effectively to individuals at all levels of an organization;
- A flexible self-starter who can set and adjust priorities, adapt, manage your time, meet deadlines, work well under pressure and achieve objectives in a dynamic environment while working autonomously and/or as part of a team;
- Ability to maintain healthy working relationship, build trust and foster on-going strategic partnerships between service providers, staff and clients.
- Employment and/or Post Secondary Education within the Field of Human Resources, HR Administration, Business Administration, or Recruitment. Any experience within the Security Industry considered an asset.
- Excellent written, and verbal communication skills in English. Bilingual (French) written, and verbal communications skills are a considerable asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; including strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook. Working knowledge of Salesforce or Photoshop an asset.
- Any experience working in the field of Uniformed Security Guarding (or as a Security Guard first hand) is a considerable asset.
