Freehand Hospitality operates several unique chef-driven restaurants and bars in the Queen’s Marque district on the Halifax waterfront including, Mystic, ToriDori, Drift, Bar Sofia, Café Lunette, Peacock, Daryâ, and Salt + Ash. Freehand's diverse portfolio showcases a wide array of cooking styles—from upscale Maritime dining to casual Latin fare—along with warm and genuine hospitality.
Café by day, bistro by night, we proudly play host to morning coffee and viennoiserie, breezy business lunches, weeknight rendezvous, lazy Sunday brunches and everything in between. Executed by Chef de Cuisine Vanessa Belanger, our menus feature a greatest hits list of timeless French classics — from traditional onion soup and steak tartare, to comforting boeuf Bourguignon and seafood bouillabaisse. On weekends, we invite our guests to rise and shine for a rich variety of pastries, crêpes, galettes and breakfast sandwiches.
Under the direction of the General Manager, Café Lunette is looking for a Part Time Grab & Go Attendant/Barista who will be responsible for crafting delicious beverages, preparing food, serving and cashing out guests with a smile.
**What you will be doing**:

- Creating a positive guest experience through interaction and adherence to the steps of service
- Answering questions and make recommendations on food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services
- Preparing cold and hot beverages to standard
- Ensuring accuracy when entering information into the POS system
- Monitoring food quality and presentation standards
- Ensuring guests are satisfied with their food and service
- Responding promptly and courteously to any guest request or concern
- Monitoring the cleanliness of grab & go area and ensure all materials and areas are clean and free from clutter
- Following standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing grab & go products
- Being aware of any special requests, inclusive of guest allergies
- Completing opening, closing and side-duties efficiently and safely
- Following all food safety standards and systems
- Other duties as assigned or required

**The person we are looking for has**:

- Barista experience
- High School Diploma
- High attention to detail and cleanliness
- Passionate about customer service
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills and sales ability
- Ability to multi-task and maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to engage our guests
- Experience in a similar environment an asset
