This is an opportunity for someone with "people first" mindset and eagerness to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Human Resources Manager and will be supporting a unionized facility. As a “true” Generalist your responsibilities will range from; full cycle-recruitment, performance management, payroll, employee relations, training & development, HRIS, disability management and labour relations. **Responsibilities** - Design and implement the Slacan full cycle recruitment program for both hourly and salary positions, ensuring our Company is recruiting and selecting the best possible talent. - Assist in the implementation and communication/training of all HR policies and procedures - Employment legislation knowledge including Employment Standards Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and Human Rights legislation, and maintain compliance of necessary standards. - Foster positive employee relations and effectively manage employee relations issues. Assisting with employee complaint and investigation process, advising on conflict management, and assisting Supervisor with corrective action preparation - Responsible for assisting in hourly and salary payroll administration - Assist with the Early and Safe Return to Work/Disability management programs. Ensuring timelines are met and proper follow up has been maintained. - Participate in all Health and Safety programs, attending Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings, and documentation of programs, training and Safety communication. - Maintain and improve HR Standard Materials (correspondence, job descriptions, forms, policies, procedures, PowerPoints, checklists, contracts, employee file). Ensuring all are up to date and in electronic format. - Payroll and benefit administration for salary and hourly employees - Participate in various Human Resources initiatives and projects in support of Company goals - Support the development of an annual performance management process for all employees, as well as the development of employee programs (attendance awards, years of service, etc.) - Create quarterly updates, working with all departments on articles/communication for posting. - Perform all other duties assigned **Skills** - Strong employee relations. Ability to build trust and effective working relationships - Hands-on, willing attitude, with interpersonal skills to maintain positive employee relations - Ability to work in a close team environment with overlapping/shared responsibilities and maintain positive working relationships - A dedicated and energetic individual who takes initiative to achieve results - Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills **Knowledge and Experience** - 2-3 years’ experience in a Human Resources role, specifically manufacturing environment preferred. - Bachelor’s degree and/or certificate in HR or related field; - Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation preferred; - Knowledge of ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA, WSIB Regulations and other related legislation pertaining to workplace Human Resources **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Benefits**: - Company events - Dental care - Employee assistance program - Extended health care - Life insurance - On-site parking - Paid time off - RRSP match - Tuition reimbursement - Vision care Schedule: - Monday to Friday Application question(s): - What is your salary expectation?
