Assistant Manager

We operate two (2) adjoining properties - Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel and Best Western Parkway Hotel, conveniently located at Highway 7 and Leslie Street in Richmond Hill. Accessible via YRT /VIVA transit, and Highways 7, 404 and 407. This position is responsible for assisting management in the planning and management of the hotel’s F&B outlets (excluding banquets) in accordance with our efforts to deliver outstanding guest service, ensuring quality service and compliance with corporate and property policies and procedures while meeting or exceeding financial goals. This position reports directly to the Director of F&B, and provides assistance in managing all F&B outlets (Restaurant, bar/lounge, in-room dining, Starbucks, Champions/OTB).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Supervise servers, buspersons, and bartenders to ensure adherence to all service standards
- Supervisor service of guests, ensuring any guest in need of service is attended on a timely basis
- Visiting tables during service and inquiring as to meal, service levels
- Ensure side duties are completed on timely basis
- Lead Daily Stand up meetings for Outlets team(s)
- Coach associates by ensuring understanding of what needs to be done when, and how to execute duties successfully
- Supervise and check restaurant for cleanliness and maintenance
- Assist Director of F&B and Executive Chef with conducting menu classes and taste panels for team members, support, schedule and assign daily work for team members
- Train team members for the outlet’s activities and operations
- Monitor, observe and assist in evaluating team member performance
- Support and assist team members in handling guest inquiries and requests
- Review guest feedback with team members and ensure any appropriate corrective action(s) are taken
- Reward and recognize associates as appropriate
- Resolve guest complaints effectively in absence of Director of F&B
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards and rules
- Monitor product quality and service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address any concerns on a timely basis and make improvements accordingly
- Assist in monitoring inventory and inventory control
- Taking group reservations and confirming with Director & chef on bookings
- Assisting with employee scheduling
- Assisting with Payroll for all outlets
- Organizing and executing group functions
- Manage schedule to meet the needs of in-house groups, guests and reservations by coordinating Pre-Arrival and Day-to-Day Management
- Program and manage delivery apps and supporting marketing
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Director of F&B and/or General Manager

Job Requirements:
*Must be passionate about delivering exceptional guest service

*Must have prior hotel F&B experience

*Must have POS experience

*Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

*Must be detail oriented

*Must be a team player

*Must be flexible with shift availability - opening, mid & closing shifts, weekends, holidays

*must have valid SmartServe

*Safe Food Handling certification an asset

*Completion of post secondary hospitality or F&B Management program an asset
