**Program Specialist**

The Program Operations team is responsible for the efficient operations of all core Mitacs programs and ensuring that participants have a high-quality experience. Reporting to the Manager, Program Operations, the Specialist, Program Operations, will provide implementation support to Mitacs’ core programs.

Core programs currently include Accelerate, Elevate, Globalink, and Science Policy Fellowship, as well as the associated training activities within each program. Core programs will change as new pilots are transitioned out of the Pilots team and into the portfolio of this team.

This position will focus on delivery and support for program implementation with a particular focus on client satisfaction. Specialists are front-line communicators, poised to resolve any questions that come from clients or key internal and external stakeholders. Program Specialists participate in team meetings, projects, and planning to maintain consistency in the delivery of core programs, working towards a high standard of delivery in achieving strong client outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities**

The Program Specialist performs core duties related to delivering high-quality service in a client-facing role.

Core responsibilities of the Specialist:
**Provide a high standard of Customer Service**: (examples include, but are not limited to)
- Follow protocols for timely and effective resolution of client inquiries.

**Effectively maintain and disseminate programmatic content**:(examples include, but are not limited to)

**Deliver programmatic components designed to achieve high impact and high standards of excellence**: (examples include, but are not limited to)
- Work collaboratively within the Operations team and/or across units to present, select and implement recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Liaise effectively with stakeholders, including vendors, university partners and internal business units to ensure consistent and seamless program delivery.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Preference for an undergraduate or college degree/certificate - additionally,
- Preference will be given to Social Sciences and Humanities degrees with specializations in Human Services, Social Services, Diversity Studies, International Studies and/or Adult Education.
- Innovative self-starter with proven ability to advance solutions that respond effectively to client concerns and build program enhancements.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis on analysis using Excel.
- Excellent verbal, written and non-verbal communication skills with a focus on communicating clearly, precisely, and concisely with a range of audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required to effectively interact with a range of stakeholders and clients, both internally and externally.
- Impeccable attention to detail, accuracy and organization skills.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment juggling multiple tasks.
- Thorough in adhering to corporate processes.
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills.
- Bilingualism (French and English).
