JOB SUMMARY:
The Tourism Outreach Intern will be focused on increasing Sudbury Indie Cinema’s visibility as an Arts and Culture destination in Northeastern Ontario. The Intern will be responsible for developing relationships with film sector groups in the region and develop partnerships outside of Sudbury which will help drive visitors to Sudbury Indie Cinema as well as other public arts assets in Sudbury. The Intern will work with Sudbury Tourism and Northeastern Ontario Tourism, as well as local cultural organizations to develop and promote cultural tourism packages. The Intern will help develop and implement surveys to measure successfulness of different visitor campaigns throughout the project.

Working alongside the Project Manager, the Tourism Outreach Intern will work on marketing and promotion strategies that will reach an audience beyond the Greater City of Sudbury. Learning and understanding the cinema's programming and films, the Intern will promote to niche groups depending on the upcoming filM/Festival/events.

The Tourism Outreach Intern will also research and create partnerships with other Arts and Culture Organizations in the North, and must be comfortable with making these new connections.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development relationships with Arts and Culture organizations across Northeastern Ontario
- Promoting cinema programming, festivals and events across Northeastern Ontario
- Develop promotional and marketing strategies for traditional media and all social media platforms
- Establish and manage media protocols such as writing press releases and distributing them to appropriate outlets
- Work closely with the Project Manager to achieve mutual goals and joint projects, and measure the success of these projects
- Assist in coordinating and managing Indie Cinema’s special and promotional events
- Assist with box-office and welcoming audience members
- Working concession and closing and opening cinema as needed

REQUESTED PROFILE
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French an Asset)
- Skills in public relations and marketing
- Understanding of the arts sector and independent film
- Excellent organizational skills and have the capacity to manage many projects at the same time
- Ability to work under pressure independently and with others
- Be creative and resourceful
- Capacity to work towards specific objectives
- Flexible schedule

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Basic knowledge of major social media platforms
- New entrants into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field
- Have not previously participated in a NOHFC-funded internship
- Are at least 18 years of age
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada

SALARY: $36,500, Full-time, 12 month contract position
