The Director of Development plays a pivotal role in leading and managing Lauremont School’s ambitious fundraising goals, in alignment with the School’s overall strategic direction. One of the mandates of this role is to develop a strong School Community and culture of giving (time, energy, expertise and funds). This position works closely with the Executive Director, Community Development and the Head of School to plan for and realize the strategic development needs of Lauremont School. The Director of Development will also work in tandem with the Director of Alumni and Community Relations to ensure collaboration around parent and alumni engagement.

**Responsibilities**
- Key member of the Community Development Department along with the Executive Director, the Director of Enrolment Management, Enrolment Management Associate the Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications, the Director of Alumni and Community Relations, the Digital Marketing Content Specialist and the Communications and Marketing Coordinator
- Responsible for a portfolio of Major Gift prospects, which includes face to face solicitations, recognition and stewardship
- Identify and develop new individual prospect relationships
- Advise and support Lauremont School and Community Development strategies as required
- Develop fundraising strategies for The Titan Fund (Annual Giving), Capital Campaign, major gifts and planned gifts to identify and steward donors
- Raise awareness of giving campaigns and foster relationships to optimize donations at every constituency level
- Identify and implement best practices for ethical solicitation, follow-through and evaluation
- Collaborate with the Executive Director, Community Development to set strategies aimed at bolstering community engagement
- Develop appropriate and effective donor stewardship and recognition strategies and activities
- Create a robust and well-researched donor prospect research program
- Provide advice and guidance to the Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and Development Committee
- Develop appropriate and effective donor education for staff, parents and Board of Trustees
- Research and plan for new fundraising opportunities including endowment, planned gifts, and investments
- Oversee the administration of the RE-NXT database to ensure accuracy and optimization
- Manage in-kind donations and determine appropriate receipt level
- Provide training in relationship building, fundraising techniques and best practices (to other administration and volunteers involved in fundraising)
- Establish and monitor performance metrics, including fundraising targets; report monthly to the Head of School
- Identify and engage volunteers for ongoing fundraising and special campaign activities
- In partnership with the Director of Alumni and Community Relations, plan fundraising events such as the Gala and Annual Golf Tournament
- Monitor current developments in non-profit fundraising practices and in particular CAIS (Canadian Accreditation of Independent Schools), Conference of Independent Schools (CIS), CAISAP and CCAE.

**Qualifications**:

- A Proven track record of major gift fundraising
- Experience planning and executing Annual Fund campaigns
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Raiser’s Edge experience
- Experience in a CAIS Independent School an asset
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- A current Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED
