We offer tutoring at elementary, high school, and college levels in a one-on-one setting. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate home school tutor for Secondary School to join our team.

Please note: This is a part time position.

Qualifications:
1. Be an undergraduate student, or have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, or a combination of related education/training background (required)
2. Have excellent understanding of Mathematics and Sciences, be able to teach high school students, grade 8 - 12, with a focus on grade 11 and 12 (required)
3. Experience teaching or working with young students or a combination of related training and education (required)
4. Ability and willingness to teach in-person at our West Vancouver location.
5. Ability and willingness to teach online following training (required)
6. An outgoing personality and ability to work in a team
7. Passion for education and helping struggling students

**Responsibilities**:
1. Provide academic instruction of Math/Sciences.
2. Assess the student's academic skills, strengths, and challenges
3. Help the student with their academic struggles and prepare them for their assignments/tests
4. Review students academic progress and communicate with students, staff, and parents
5. Communicate reliably and transparently with the staff and coworkers and bring up any challenges they encounter with students. We work in a team and like to come up with solutions to tutoring issues together.
6. Commit to each student until the student's parent or guardian expresses no longer needing tutoring. AKILI is proud of a student-oriented approach to tutoring.

What we offer:
Competitive pay - in a time where tutors are working for minimum wage, we offer you about double that for your tutoring services
Training - you will have the opportunity to shadow senior tutors before you start tutoring
Fixed location - no need to travel to the student house.

Pay: Starts at $25.00 /hour and depends on experience
