Overview
Sunflower Developmental Services is seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders. Duties
- Conduct assessments to evaluate patients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' needs and goals
- Provide therapy sessions to improve communication skills, articulation, fluency, and voice quality
- Assist patients in developing alternative communication methods, such as sign language or augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families on speech therapy techniques and strategies for continued improvement

**Skills**:To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to speech therapy
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to establish rapport and build trust
- Proficient in case management to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Experience working in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred
- Specialization or experience in pediatrics is highly desirable
