**Job Summary**

Edo Japan is seeking a motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented **Kitchen Staff / Cook / Sushi Team Member** to join our restaurant team. This position is essential to food quality, safety, cleanliness, and overall customer experience.

**Key Responsibilities / Duties Kitchen, Cooking & Sushi Operations**
- Prepare and cook menu items according to Edo Japan recipes and standards
- Assist with sushi preparation and assembly as trained
- Ensure proper portioning, food presentation, and quality control
- Perform daily food preparation (vegetables, sauces, rice, proteins, etc.)
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and cross-contamination procedures

**Cross-Training: Cashier & Front-of-House**
- Willingness to learn cashier duties, including order taking and payment processing
- Assist front-of-house during peak periods when required
- Provide friendly, professional customer service when interacting with guests

**Cleanliness, Sanitation & Maintenance**
- Clean and sanitize kitchen workstations, equipment, and prep areas
- Wash dishes and maintain dishwashing stations according to standards
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining lobby and customer areas
- Clean and sanitize washrooms as scheduled
- Complete opening, closing, and ongoing cleaning checklists

**Operational Support & Standards**
- Follow Edo Japan franchise operating procedures at all times
- Maintain proper uniform, grooming, and hygiene standards
- Comply with NS Health Services food safety regulations
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Participate in training and continuous skills development

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Previous kitchen, cook, or food-service experience preferred
- Sushi experience is an asset but not required (training provided)
- Willingness to learn cashier and front-of-house responsibilities
- Strong understanding of food handling, safety, and sanitation practices
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively during busy shifts
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization
- Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

**Compensation & What We Offer**
- Competitive hourly wage**:$17.00 - $25.00/hour**:
