**About Potash**
BHP’s Jansen Potash Project located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is BHP’s first and most advanced potash project. Jansen will add diversity and a Canadian presence to BHP’s global portfolio. Jansen’s large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with anticipated initial capacity of 4.35 Mtpa. The BHP Board has recently sanctioned Jansen Project (Stage 1), with a US $5.7 billion investment. The project is now entering the construction phase, with the first potash expected in 2027.
**Purpose**:
Reporting to the Lead Continuous Improvement, the Specialist Continuous Improvement contributes to identifying, scoping and delivering ongoing business improvement within the Operations Readiness and future operations scopes of work. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the team that will be accountable to build and drive the improvement function for the world’s newest underground potash mine. The Specialist Continuous Improvement Specialist will focus on owning and building the Jansen specific improvement process and manage the pipeline of initiatives focused on the full operation from underground to the logistics network.
**About the Role**:
In this role, you will:
- Collect and analyze qualitative data through research design and the facilitation of ideation/idea generation, and synthesizes the data to generate and enhance insight
- Communicate narratives about the problem or idea at hand, using visual representations to engage and motivate the audience
- Plan and track the delivery of and manages a project to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes
- Determine the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems
- Identify, implement and evaluate the success of continuous improvement activities/initiatives to improve the safety, effectiveness and efficiency of BHP systems and processes
- Strive to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste
**Work Location**:
Downtown, Saskatoon; 40 hours per week, parking is provided on-site.
**About You**:
- Post secondary accreditation in engineering, finance, mathematics, computer science, or any similar discipline
- Working knowledge and experience in data analysis, Lean Continuous Improvement processes and Project Management
- Demonstrated experience in an operating environment
- Aptitude for data analysis
- Proficiency in Power BI is considered an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability influence a wide variety of stakeholders
