**About Potash**
BHP’s Jansen Potash Project, located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is BHP’s first and most advanced potash project. Jansen will add diversity and a Canadian presence to BHP’s global portfolio. Jansen’s large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with anticipated initial capacity of 4.35 Mtpa. The BHP Board has recently sanctioned Jansen Project (Stage 1), with a US $5.7 billion investment. The project is now entering the construction phase, with the first potash expected in 2027.
**Purpose**:
Thinking about your next career move? Then think big BHP is looking for a talented Specialist Maintenance Analysis & Improvement (A&I) to manage the ongoing safety and reliability of site-wide equipment, ensuring the assets are effectively and efficiently maintained. They will focus efforts on supporting the Reliability of our equipment and processes by monitoring SAP Master Data requests. The Specialist Maintenance A&I also focuses heavily on supporting the BHP Work Management process combined with the BHP Material Risk processes.
**About the Role**:
In this role, you will:
- Prioritize equipment reliability and component failure analysis, continuous improvement initiatives, and Risk and Control Owner support initiatives
- Provide consultation on Maintaining the Master data Quality in SAP, Maintenance schedules, site-wide Material Risk improvement initiatives, and reviewing technical documentation for contracts documents (e.g., insurance)
- Create and Edit reports in the SAP Business Objects module (BOBJ) for critical control verifications (CCV) and specifics requests of departments such as Risk and HSE
- Engage in daily interaction with the Material Risk team on support, updates and changes
- Participate risk merger meeting which includes changes to the verification in the performance standards and the CCV’s
- Train material control/risk owners on a biweekly basis and continue to coach them on a regular basis
- Ensure the SAP system is maintained and is generating the correct preventative maintenance (PMs) at the optimal frequency
- Participate in root cause analysis of chronic equipment failure
- Complete Auditing & Reporting (Monthly systems audits, Monthly physical asset & critical BHP owned spares audits, Process Reporting)
- Maintain the existing, and creating new Work Strategies in the Availability Workbench (AWB) modelling tool
**Work Location**:
Downtown, Saskatoon office. 40 hours per week. This role will require regular travel to the Jansen mine site located in Leroy, SK. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.
**About You**:
- Post secondary-degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Relevant experience in mining
- Exposure to SAP reporting methodologies (Business Objects module)
- Experience in SAP Master Data objects is highly advantageous (creation, modifications and deletion in\out of SAP system)
- Familiarity with risk management processes and programs; experience in Material Risk and Control methodologies is considered an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for effectively supporting, training and coaching team members in their technical learning
