**Job Title: Host/Hostess**

**Job Summary**:As a host/hostess, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for guests. Your primary duty is to manage the flow of guests into the restaurant, provide accurate wait times, and escort customers to their tables. Additionally, you will coordinate with other staff members to ensure efficient seating and contribute to an overall positive dining experience.

**Responsibilities**:
**Greeting Guests**:Warmly welcome guests as they enter the establishment.
Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanour.

**Reservation Management**:Handle reservation inquiries and manage the reservation book.
Communicate effectively with guests regarding reservation details.

**Seating Arrangements**:Assess table availability and allocate guests to appropriate seating.
Optimize seating to ensure efficient use of space and staff resources.

**Wait Time Communication**:Provide accurate wait time estimates to guests.
Keep guests informed about the status of their table.

**Customer Service**:Address guest concerns and inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
Assist in resolving any issues related to seating or service.

**Coordination with Staff**:Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.
Communicate special requests or considerations to the appropriate team members.

**Maintaining Cleanliness**:Ensure the waiting area is clean and organized.
Monitor and manage the cleanliness of the entrance and dining areas.

**Menu Knowledge**:Familiarize yourself with the menu to answer basic guest questions.
Direct guests to the appropriate staff for detailed menu inquiries.

**Cash Handling (if applicable)**:Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
Provide guests with receipts and appropriate change.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
- Familiarity with reservation systems (if applicable).
- Positive attitude and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
- Basic knowledge of the restaurant's menu and offerings.
- Chinese/Japanese/Korean is an asset but not necessary.

**Working Conditions**:The role may involve standing for extended periods, working evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: From $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
