ABB Smart Buildings digitally transforms commercial, industrial and residential buildings for the highest comfort, efficiency, safety and security - enhancing quality of life in buildings of the future through safe, smart and sustainable electrification solutions, services and products. Our Emergency Lighting manufacturing facility in Dorval, Canada is hiring a Technical Sales Support Specialist to be the emergency lighting expert for customers, ABB front end sales and sales agencies from the American market. Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, you will be responding to customer inquiries by using your customer service skills and technical knowledge. The main objective of this position is to resolve any incoming technical requests from the field for all 5 brands of our emergency lighting line of product in North America. The technical specialist responsibilities include the resolution of customer issues and providing technical information/assistance and back-up to both internal and external customers. In addition, the technical specialist will assist the product & marketing manager(s) to ensure that customer service/inside sales and field sales have proper technical documentation in hand to provide proper support to the customer base.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Provide technical support and information to clients, both internal and external.
- Maintain technical documentation provided to customer service and inside sales employees to ensure support.
- Collaborate with the engineering department to find solutions to customer problems and contribute to bring innovative solutions to the market.
- Document issues raised by customers, including all exchanges with customers and the engineering department, and ensure that it is available for reference.
- Provide full technical support by enforcing contract warranty clauses and provide a field service agent as needed for courtesy calls.
- Process authorization of solution and payment of charges, provide supporting documentation to interested parties such as accounting.
- Negotiate repair costs and costs incurred for late repairs.
**Your background**:
- 2 to 4 years experience in similar position
- Strong sales and customer focused orientation
- Ability to follow procedures and methodology, making suggestions for improvements
- Strong communication and people skills
- Ability to stay calm in stressful situations
