**About The Role**

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Project Controls Specialist is responsible for leading and controlling initiatives and recognizing areas of concern, in turn providing advice to support the needs of the business. The Project Controls Specialist supports projects to follow Graham practice and optimizes the use of Project Controls tools, as well as representing the first level of escalated tickets. This will be a Fly In, Fly Out position on a 14 days on, 14 days off rotation at our IOL Kearl Project site.

**As a Project Controls Specialist at Graham, you will**:

- Lead specific initiatives and assigned tasks.
- Identify areas for improvement in process and system functionality.
- Document and articulate work procedures.
- Advise, assist, or train the project team in implementing Graham standard processes and procedures including:

- Project budgets, schedule of values, and cost control;
- Work planning, schedules, and short interval plans;
- Quantity tracking and work progress measurement;
- Recognize the need for training or knowledge content; create or update accordingly.
- Participate in corporate improvement initiatives.
- Assist in prioritizing Project Controls initiatives.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop project plans and processes.
- Communicate well at all levels, understanding and properly interpreting questions asked by the business and promptly responding, escalating when necessary, and updating the client.
- Display a desire to help the project team where possible.
- Provide efficient support and advice on current questions and any potential future issues.
- Collaborate with peers to help answer questions and provide additional support as necessary.
- Collaborate with other Corporate Service groups, providing Project Controls expertise and support.
- Demonstrate HSE and Quality behaviours that reflect corporate expectations of Actively Caring and Road to Zero.
- Act as a technical expert, providing support to the project team and influencing the decisions of others.
- Attract attention from the project team for process

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- Equivalent to completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school, or a university degree; degree in Construction or Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience.
- Construction experience, as well as experience elsewhere at Graham.
- Quantity Surveying background
- Unit Rate Experience considered an asset
- Project Controls systems experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to collaborate effectively with others.
- In-depth knowledge of current cost control, document and planning / scheduling process and systems.
- General awareness of auxiliary project management areas (HSE, accounting, quality, purchasing, commercial management).
- Awareness of market competitors and ability to stay current on trends.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Project Controls software
- Proficiency with SAP is an asset.
