**Job Overview**:
Reporting to the Site Manager/Project Manager, the Project Controls Lead will be accountable for the hands-on administration and coordination of the Planning, Scheduling, Cost, Progress Measurement and Change Management obligations of the contract.
The role is expected to regularly liaise with Site Manager/Project Manager, Discipline Leads, Billing Team, Subcontractors, field supervision and clients.
**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**:
- Understand contract requirements
- Cost, quantity and labor hour tracking
- Implement project WBS/CBS in alignment with project needs
- Develop, maintain/adjust project baseline schedule and progress update
- Coordinate with the Project Team/Disciplines Leads/Subcontractors/Owner for incorporating their inputs into the project schedule
- Analyze schedule impacts and changes and develop recovery plans
- Cost reporting, work with the client/Project Team on required formats and report at established frequencies internally and as required by the client
- Monitor project budget, earned vs burned hours, analyze risk and opportunities and provide feedback to the site project team
- Ensure that all reports and analyses are consistent, and deadlines are met
- Generate performance KPI’s/Dashboard Reporting
- Identify trends and scope changes
- Provide budget development support and conform estimate to align with execution strategy
- Implement Project Controls system set up and facilitate required training of junior PC staff
- Lead cost forecast process
- Lead change management process
- Cash Flow development & reporting
- Analyze and report on schedule risks
- Integrate risk management output into schedules and mitigation planning
- Provide risk analysis, feedback and recommendations/ corrective measures to Project Management
- Host/Participate in progress meetings with project stakeholders
- Ensure the project closeout process is aligned with corporate/client requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in the Oil Sands, Chemicals, Pulp & Paper, Power Generation or Mining Facilities
- Mechanical Services Trade Certificate, College Diploma or University Degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Must possess advanced Primavera and Microsoft Excel skills
- Must be detailed oriented with strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to present complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks
