The Student Association of BCIT is a non-profit student services and advocacy organization at the second largest post-secondary institution in British Columbia. The SA supports and enhances the quality of student life for over 48,000 full-time and part-time students across five campuses. Students lead our organization and drive our strategy. **The Position.**

The Wellness Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing overall assistance to the Wellness & Advocacy team in the delivery of programs and services. The Wellness Administrative Assistant works closely with the Wellness & Advocacy Manager and Wellness Specialist to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a range of wellness programs across all campuses. You also assist programs by helping to recruit participants, with department reporting and with other program-related duties.

More specifically, your key duties and responsibilities will be the following:

- Provide overarching administrative support to the Wellness department
- Maintain department databases and software
- Support the automation of services and programming within the department
- Assist the Wellness team with admin tasks including reporting, data management, event administration, and other admin tasks
- Assist with the planning of a variety of ongoing and campaign-based events and initiatives (e.g., Zen Lounge, Gift of Choice)
- Assist students in accessing Wellness programs, registering and managing appointments
- Work with the Wellness Specialist to engage with students, staff and faculty at Wellness events and programs across all campuses
- Support program evaluation to ensure all current and future initiatives meet the needs of students (e.g., event feedback forms, event observations)
- As needed, assist students by referring them to appropriate BCITSA, BCIT and community services and resources

Other related duties are the following:

- Work with the Wellness team to complete special projects (e.g., understand student needs and broader BCIT perspectives of wellness as it relates to academic success)
- Perform data entry and provide administrative support related to the management of a department needs assessment
- Manage and cultivate authentic relationships with all internal and external BCIT stakeholders, especially students engaging in Wellness programming
- Represent the BCITSA Wellness and Advocacy department in a professional and friendly demeanor both internally and externally
- Identify opportunities to collaborate with a variety of individuals and groups to support student wellbeing

**In addition, you must have**:

- Must have a genuine interest in health and wellness and assisting others to achieve their own optimal wellbeing
- Experience working in small groups to accomplish collective goals
- Ability to work with students and engage the broader BCIT community at booths, events and related projects
- Demonstrated punctuality, organizational, and time management skills
- Must be able to lift up to 11kg (25lbs), bend, crouch, climb, stand and carry

**Assets**:

- Familiarity with BCITSA and BCIT services and resources
- Ability to work a variety of hours at a variety of campuses
- Experience working with a variety of groups including Indigenous, international, individuals with disabilities, etc.
