**Health and Safety Coordinator**

Reporting to the HSE Manager, the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating occupational health and safety programs from the operation to ensure the safety and well being of staff and workgroups. This role primarily supports the HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) branches across Canada - occasional travel is required.

**Key responsibilities**
- Supports the development, implementation, and review of annual health, safety, and environment practices, processes and information exchange according to all relevant federal and provincial legislation.
- Manages CNESST claims process, providing guidance on return-to-work programs.
- Leads any inspections and or investigations by enforcement agencies (WSIB/WCB/CNESST, Workplace Safety & Health, OSHA).
- Oversees and Co-chairs Joint Health and Safety Committees.
- Provides coaching, training and technical guidance to team members, managers, and supervisors, regarding relevant compliance standards and other requirements related to health, safety, and environment.
- Coordinates monthly health and safety meetings and audits.
- Administers health, safety, and environmental orientation training and post-training assessment for new hires and contractors.
- Provide guidance and or assistance in the coordination of internal and external training programs, delivering and assisting with the delivery of internal HSE learning experiences.
- Prepares quality reports and presentations with valid and comprehensive recommendations for health, safety, and environmental controls.
- Provides support or facilitates incident investigation (SCAT), analysis, reporting, communication, and response.
- Conducts hazard identification and risk assessment analysis and applies controls.
- Validates and maintains accurate and complete incident information.

**Qualifications & Education**
- 3+ years of health, safety, and environmental experience in a manufacturing environment (an asset).
- Fluently bilingual in English and French, due to national scope of this role.
- Post-secondary education (degree, diploma or certificate) in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) / Professionnel en sécurité agréé du Canada (PSAC) designation preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable legislation; preferably amongst multiple provinces.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office.

- Ability to continuously improve practices, processes and systems.
