Established in 1836 in Saint John, NB as T. McAvity & Sons, Clow Canada is the only national manufacturer of fire hydrants, valves and ancillary products for the waterworks industry in Canada. We have a distribution center located in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Clow Canada is wholly owned by McWane Inc. one of the largest manufacturers of fire hydrants, valves and cast iron pipe in North America. Clow Canada has an immediate staff opening for the position of**:Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator**

**Position Summary**
The EHS Coordinator assists in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the EHS Management Systems, with primary responsibility for the Environmental Management System, including, but not limited to, maintaining ISO14001 Registration, conducting internal/external audits and inspection, leading incident investigations, maintaining approvals and permits, implementing/maintaining data management systems, liaising with government and third-party agencies, developing/implementing training and communications, and serves as a technical resource for both management and personnel.

**Skills and Attributes Required**

**Technical Skills/Attributes**:

- Bachelor's degree or diploma (preferably in relevant field)
- 2-3 years experience in environmental, health and safety related field
- Professional designation, e.g. CRSP, EP, etc. (preferred)
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint and other Microsoft programs
- Familiarity online EHS software, e.g. Cority, HSI Platform, Dakota, EHS Insights would be considered an asset.

**Job Tasks**
- Improve CLOW Canada's Safety Culture by supporting and helping to promote the McWane Way.
- Support the EHS Manager in championing, developing, implementing and continually improving all aspects of CLOW Canada's environmental, health, and safety management systems.
- Provide environmental, health, and safety advice and recommendations to all levels of the organization.
- Lead, participate and report on EHS related internal/external management system audits), inspections, and meetings, as required and including other McWane Inc. facilities.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and effective corrective actions.
- Report and escalate any actual or potential non-compliance, hazardous condition, and behaviours to the EHS Manager, Plant Manager and Supervision.
- Maintain CLOW Canada's ISO14001 Registration.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with environmental permits.
- Be knowledgeable of and provide support to CLOW Canada's Quality Management Programs.
- Develop, lead and schedule environmental, health and safety training and communications including, but not limited to, presentations, toolbox talks, information boards, etc.
- Compile, generate and communicate statistical data, i.e. keep performance indicators.
- Liaise with and issue reports and other documentation to government agencies (i.e. WorksafeNB, Department of Environment, NPRI, etc.) and other interested external parities as required.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with environmental permits.
- Stay informed by regularly reviewing environmental, health and safety regulations, identifying and partaking in continuous learning opportunities such as attending courses, conferences and engaging with other experts in the EHS field.
- Participate in, coordinate and document Joint Occupational Health & Safety Meetings and Monthly Supervisor's EHS Meeting.
- Manage chemical and contractor approvals.
