Service Manager

**Responsibilities**
Through the effective management, leadership and relationship building skills the Service Manager will ensure the on going success of the shop floor. This position will be responsible for creating and sustaining safe work practices, improving reliability and reducing costs. He/she will be a strong team player with an unwavering commitment to financial accountability, technical excellence, repair, maintenance and performance of our aggregate, waste and recycling equipment.
Reporting to the President, you will be responsible for the proper deployment of job resources for the entire facility.
This position will be responsible for the following:
- You will be assigning work duties, supervising personnel and coordinating the mechanical and fabrication department.
- Review daily work plans with the management and take appropriate actions to ensure we are operating productively and maintaining quality control
- For larger projects, develop a production schedule detailing all tasks and when they need to be completed.
- Determine the parts and materials needed to cover the production demand in advance to ensure the work flow is not interrupted
- Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
- Ensure proper deployment of job resources including assigning personnel, ordering parts, tools and consumables to maximize workflow, efficiency and execute a planned schedule.
- Collaborate with transportation, fabrication, field service and parts departments to improve production.
- Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections and complete follow-up activities.
- Ensure adequate and suitable safety equipment is available, PPE is supplied, readily accessible, properly used and maintained.
- Ensure all shop employees maintain the effective use of the work order system. Ensure all production related paperwork is turned into the service writer daily and the specific details of the repair are captured and documented accurately.
- Participate in the hiring process for new personnel and the discipline of current personnel as required.
- Observe all legislated OHSA & company H&S regulations as well as contribute to the continuous development of new and improved workplace safety procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
