**Title**:Dispatcher

**Reports To**:General Manager

The Dispatcher is responsible for the scheduling and efficient planning of the drivers' routes. The Dispatcher's responsibilities include assigning drivers to trucks, monitoring sequence compliance, and providing accurate directions for pickup and delivery. The role includes providing support in a fast paced, high call volume office environment. The dispatcher will also assist in operational and data entry tasks as necessary in a timely and accurate manner.

**Job Duties**
- Schedule and dispatch trucks, with goal to book the most timely service possible
- Direct the pickup and delivery activities of drivers
- Provide accurate directions for pickup and delivery services
- Schedule and dispatch workers, work crews or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to requests, specifications, or needs, using radios or telephones.
- Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from work crews, supervisors, and field inspectors using tablet communication.
- Oversee all communications within specifically assigned territories.
- Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards
- Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules.
- Arrange for necessary repairs in order to restore service and schedules.
- Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures
- Dispatch _
- Answer phones and fill out dispatch sheets and other logs as required
- Dispatching “call-in” pickups to appropriate drivers
- Provide dispatch support for drivers as necessary
- Manage driver routes and productivity of drivers efficiently
- Contact customers to assist drivers on route
- Manage in live time the customer issues as reported

Route Sheets
- Ensure route sheets are correct after driver check in - check in drivers
- Assign carry over calls to routing for next day - ensure all calls scheduled
- Build route sheets for routes - manage productivity of these service types to ensure maximum daily route productivity by drivers is achieved
- Daily closing of routes in Trux
- Manage disposal tickets as needed
- Manage DVIR as needed

Container delivery
- Schedule container delivery, removals and repairs
- Coordinate bin availability with container shop and ensure that they prepare bins as necessary
- Performs other duties as required

**Experience: 1 **year as a Dispatcher in paper shredding sector or a related industry

**Education**:College certification in a related field
