**Quality Control & Chemical technician**

**Summary**:
The Quality Control & Chemical Technologist is responsible for monitoring, cleaning and maintain proper handling of pre-treatment, reverse osmosis and wastewater management systems resulting in consistent and effective preparation of materials to be powder coated, clean water returned to the city, and waste sludge handled for proper disposal while also ensuring that the day-to-day functions as designated by the Production Manager are both adhered to and done efficiently and safely.

**Reports to**:
Quality Lead & Quality Engineering Manager

**Job Specific Responsibilities**:

- Monitor Pre-Treatment system, test and adjust parameters to ensure specifications are maintained, including wash temperature, Ph levels, chemical concentrations/conductivity, and TDS (total dissolved solids) of rinse tanks.
- Monitor and clean spray nozzles (5 stages)
- Clean orange line tanks (5 tanks)
- Maintain Reverse Osmosis holding tank and test TDS.
- Monitor and adjust Wastewater Treatment system, monitor, and adjust Ph levels, and adding Calcium Chloride and polymer.
- Empty and clean water filters, removal of sludge into drums
- Monitor and adjust zinc and phosphate levels/concentrations in tanks.
- Perform quality checks of coated product for proper curing, powder coating and thickness using various quality control instruments.
- Verify coated parts count and measurement and total bars of required finished product.
- Complete Daily Coating Reports and data entry of work orders processed in ERP system.

**Job Requirements**:

- Chemical Technician Diploma or equivalent would be an asset.
- Experience with handling of chemicals and WHMIS training.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Must have good observation skills and the ability to problem solve.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

**Responsible for**:

- Advising management when aware of contraventions of Health and Safety

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
