Granite Gear Retail Associate

The Granite Club is looking to hire a full time Granite Gear Attendant who will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of Member Service in the daily operation of the retail store. Granite Gear Attendants are expected to ensure Members arriving in the shop are immediately greeted and welcomed upon arrival, engaged with to ensure they are personally and efficiently served, that they are provided with professionally delivered product knowledge, and that their service and merchandise needs are met to the greatest of the Attendant’s ability. Attendants are expected to at all times maintain an appealing, efficient, organized, clean and secure Pro Shop operation.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for the implementation and execution of Racquet Stringing and Skate Sharpening business.

Primary Responsibilities
- Build trustful and dependable relationships with Members, such that Members will think of Granite Gear as their first choice for athletic equipment, attire, service and advice.
- Develop and maintain a high competency of product knowledge that will ultimately provide a Granite Gold sales experience for all Members.
- Maintain stock levels to create a desirable sales environment and atmosphere that reflects Granite Gold Standards.
- Identify the potential for added revenue by utilizing suggestive selling and up-selling techniques in a subtle and appropriate manner.
- String and service racquets and sharpen skates as per technical training. Work product to be consistent & accurate to Member specifications.
- Practice security measures in order to protect merchandise in the shop and in storage areas. Communicate any irregularities.
- String and service racquets as required. Taking the correct stringing information (ie: string type, tension, special requests, dates) and communicating to team Members clearly and concisely.
- Completing racquet history in the stringing file for each Member to track stringing information. Maintain the stringing machine so its in working order and up to standards.

Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 or educational equivalency
- Experience in a customer service position
- Retail Sales experience
- Good communication skills (English)
- Stringing and racquet knowledge an asset
- Nice to have: MRT Certified or working towards certification.
- Flexible to work variable shifts; evenings, weekends and holidays
