**Position**: Health & Safety Specialist
**Responsibilities**:
- Oversee all aspects of Health and Safety for a unionized deli meat manufacturing facility with approximately 450 employees.
- Establish, participate, and advise in all occupational health & safety, security, and wellness initiatives and programs.
- Liaise with administrative and operations departments to provide support, direction, and training aimed at fostering an injury-free workplace and a strong safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, policies, and the appeal system.
- Manage relationships with WorkSafeBC and Fraser Health officers.
- Lead the design, update, and continuous monitoring of safety programs.
- Manage claims and disability management processes.
- Design, write, and facilitate training programs for employees.
- Work flexible hours, including both AM and PM shifts.
**Qualifications**:
- Five or more years of Health & Safety experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Five or more years of experience leading Health and Safety initiatives.
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety for British Columbia.
- Working knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, policies, and the appeal system.
- Experience dealing with WorkSafeBC and Fraser Health officers.
- Expertise in safety program design, updating, and continuous monitoring.
- Claims management and disability management experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Computer proficiency.
