**Job Summary**
The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for controlling costs, negotiating contracts, contract management for the requirements and specifications of parts/materials/equipment/services for internal and external customers.
For Bill of Material (BOM) Lead. Main responsibility is to create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) for all programs within Vuteq, from new business setup to the start of production, while supporting purchasing coordinator responsibilities.

- Set and achieve yearly cost reduction targets, based on Purchasing Strategy Documentation
- Issue purchase orders; determine economical order quantities and overall lowest cost (best value). Create blanket POs (production), create standard POs (trials, spot buys), maintain standard cost file.
- Process requisitions and Ringishos, in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers through meetings with suppliers as required, as well as vendor site-visits
- Attend conferences and tradeshows related to Purchasing functions and products
- Maintain positive supplier relationships, negotiate lowest cost solution meeting required specifications and needs of internal department
- Support Contract management as directed
- Lead projects as directed, provide purchasing support for projects, and provide support with data for completing A3’s, Ringisho
- Maintain approved supplier list
- Setting and achieving yearly cost reductions
- Report weekly in team meetings the progress of targets and goals
- Request for quote (RFQ) activities; Create RFQs, send to suppliers for pricing, compare returned RFQs from different suppliers, provide feedback to suppliers, issue a Business Award Ringisho and a Letter of Intent
- Negotiating; negotiate with suppliers to get lower pricing or improved service, work with suppliers to change their processes to improve pricing for Vuteq, benchmarking and analysis
- Must be able to understand the required specifications from the customers, review drawings (internal and externa
- Project management; take lead on projects as assigned by manager, provide purchasing support to Engineering, Production areas
- NAFTA/customs; complete necessary paperwork and submit electronically
**BOM**
- Create bill of materials; obtaining information from different departments internally at Vuteq (Sales, VPD, Purchasing, Engineering, Production), setup part numbers in AS400 (manufactured and purchased parts), send part number list to material planners and purchasing so parts can be ordered, linking part numbers in AS400 to finished good parts, and creating final BOM (assigning part numbers to components)
- BOM changes; create and replace part numbers on BOMs (receive new part numbers from New Programs), change routing of parts if parts are run on a different machine/process, work with service parts to ensure old BOMs are updated/changed if necessary, changes to pack size, usage, etc., work with all departments on changes to ensure BOMs are always kept up to date
- Maintain existing bill of materials with routing and BOM changes
- Bill of materials audits; after the start of production, audits must be performed to ensure BOM accuracy, go through line side processes and ensure all parts are accounted for and that usage is correct
- Reception back-up; cover for receptionist when she/he is on vacation or is absent
- Meetings; attend meetings with various departments regarding upcoming changes
- Ensure that all BOMs have proper structure
**Job Qualifications**
**_ Education_**
- Successful completion of a 2 - 3 year college diploma in Materials Management/Supply Chain Operations/Business Program Equiv. an asset
**_ Experience_**
- 0 - 2 years of purchasing experience
- 1 - 2 years of customer service experience
- 1 - 2 years of Microsoft Office experience
