**Role and Accountability**:
- Lead and mange the HR department to align people strategies with organizational objectives.
- Oversee employee relations, conflict resolution and internal investigations, ensuring they are conducted fairly and consistently
- Ensure success of employee performance management programs, including appraisals, feedback and professional development
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, union agreements, and company policies.
- Develop and manage HR programs related to recruitment, retention and development,.
- Oversee and manage the TFW process from arrival to departure
- Coordinate the recruitment process for employees, including TFW, Hourly and Salary
- Accountable for headcount management and the execution of the labour plan to ensure compliance and optimal staffing levels
- Act as a point of contact for union representatives and ensure the Collective Agreement is honored and maintained
- Oversee audits and ensure HR processes and documentation are in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Manage operations announcements and ensure that information is clearly communicated
- Oversee and act as the point of contact for third party meal providers for Temporary Foreign workers, including monitoring of budget
- Monitor TFW performance, addressing concerns with supervisor and ensuring fairness
- Coordinate with legal counsel to ensure proper handling of labor-related legal matters.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing guidance on HR best practices.
- Implement workforce planning initiatives in collaboration with department heads.
- Lead union negotiations, maintain grievance procedures, and uphold labor relations policies.
- Lead Level 10 meetings and individual check-ins with their direct reports, contributing to alignment and fostering continuous improvement.
- Participate in other Level 10 meetings to contribute to organizational effectiveness.
- Monitor and coach team members, ensuring adherence to company values and performance standards.
- Support cross-functional collaboration by ensuring information flows smoothly between departments.
- Promote process improvements within their team and manage change effectively.
- Utilize Microsoft To-Do (or similar) for task tracking and reminders, ensuring productivity and accountability.
- Other tasks as assigned
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- Knowledge of Employment Laws and HR Practices: In-depth understanding of labor laws, compliance regulations, and HR best practices related to recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compensation.
- Leadership and Management Skills: Strong leadership abilities to guide and develop a team of HR professionals, foster collaboration, and ensure the efficient execution of HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with employees, management, and external partners, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution: Ability to identify, address, and resolve employee relations issues, mediate conflicts, and handle sensitive situations with fairness and discretion.
- Strategic Thinking and Decision-Making Abilities: Strong analytical skills to assess organizational needs, create HR solutions, and make informed decisions that contribute to the long-term success and growth of the company.
**Education and Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Preferably 5-10 + years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and employee relations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Salary $80,000 annually
