**What’s the ask?**
Reporting to the Director, Commercial Insurance, the Underwriter is responsible for underwriting the personal and commercial accounts, including marine pleasure craft, self-storage, and high-risk residential programs. The incumbent will underwrite in accordance with the guidelines and rules applicable to the programs, provide quotes on new business, process renewals, policy changes and cancellations. As an Underwriter you will be responsible for developing relationships with the broker networks, attend industry events and assist management in the implementation of new programs, new systems and new procedures. You will be involved in program audits, annual program reviews, recommendations/referrals for enhanced coverages, carrier relationship building, systems changes and claims.

**What does it take?**
- Previous underwriting experience in PI or CI required
- Knowledge of various underwriting tools an asset such as BVS, etc.
- Lloyds coverholder processes and bordereaux experience an asset
- Knowledge of boats would be an asset (either power or sail)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- High level of self-motivation with ability to perform effectively with mínimal supervision
- Attention to detail and ability to process large volume of transactions accurately
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS office products
- Working towards CIP designation an asset
- RIBO license or ability to obtain.
