In this role you will have the chance to refine your commercial underwriting skills in an environment that recognizes performance and care for our customers.Come join a team that values the expertise of our people and provides opportunities to grow in your career.What will you do?The Auto Underwriter will be responsible for managing a high priority broker relationship such as our large National brokers. They will be responsible for building strong relationships which can enable trading of commercial business to improve the commercial portfolioIn addition to developing broker relationships, quoting, binding, and servicing profitable auto business, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a portfolio of business with a significant amount of GWP, and managing underwriting referrals. This position requires proficiency in technical underwriting and the ability to develop and maintain key relationships with strategic partners to help increase our market share within targeted areas.What will you need to succeed?2+ years of commercial auto underwriting experienceUniversity degree, college diploma or equivalent experienceEnrollment in or completion of the CIP (FCIP) designationProven experience providing genuine customer service to broker partners by presenting commercial insurance solutions specific to the needs of the clientProficient underwriting skills, sound judgement, decision making, negotiation and analytical abilityExceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work well under pressure with minimum supervisionProficient skill with computer applications including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeOccasional travel may be required to meet with broker partners throughout Ontario#LI-HYB#INDHPThis posting pertains to an existing vacancy that is actively being filled.Accessibility for applicantsGore Mutual Insurance Company is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities during all phases of the recruiting process, including the application process.If you require accommodation because of a disability, we will work with you to meet your needs.
