SRS Contracting is looking for skilled individuals

Experienced carpenter needed for high-end residential and commercial construction company experiencing steady ongoing growth. Applicants should possess a wide range of skills in addition to strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact confidently with clients, vendors, architects and designers alike. Must be able to deal with customers in a courteous, professional manner.

**Major Duties Include**:

- Perform renovations on existing structures as required.
- Tiles and painting
- Drywall installation, patching, mudding/taping
- Laying sub-floor, installing new flooring mediums
- Cabinet and counter installs (an asset not required)
- Cleaning the job site after work is completed
- Work well within a team and maintain a positive attitude
- Maintain a high standard of safety practices
- Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers
- Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other specifications is an asset
- Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
- Ensure the assigned vehicle is kept in a safe and presentable condition.
- Submit accurate time sheets on a daily basis.
- Perform job functions in as efficient a manner as possible.
- Perform job functions ensuring the customers and their properties are respected.
- Immediately refer any customer or job issues to the supervisor.

**Experience/Skills Required**:

- Working knowledge of construction processes and procedures as required.
- A minimum of 5 years carpentry experience, with emphasis on finishing work is preferred
- Red Seal Carpenter License is preferred
- Familiar with the safe use of power tools.
- Experience in new construction and renovations
- Working knowledge of the Health and Safety Code with WHMIS certification.
- Attention to detail and an understanding of the value of good customer service
- Valid Class G or higher driver’s license.
- Valid Working at Heights training.

**Responsibilities**
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and assembling materials.
- Perform drywall installation and finishing tasks as needed.
- Fabricate custom pieces according to project requirements.
- Conduct construction estimating to ensure materials are procured efficiently.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure project timelines are met.
- Adhere to safety protocols while performing heavy lifting and operating machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the duration of projects.

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role in the construction industry.
- Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and woodworking machinery.
- Familiarity with masonry techniques is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction estimating practices.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with CNC machinery is advantageous but not required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a maintenance person mentality for addressing on-site challenges.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods during work hours.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 45 per week
