**Primero America’s team is currently looking for a Business Development Manager.**
This is a unique opportunity to join our talented team and be part of Primero’s growth and success. Primero is an Australian-founded company, established in 2011 and growing consistently in Montreal since 2016. We expanded into Houston in 2022 and Toronto in 2023, strengthening our North American presence. We specialize in the design, procurement, and construction management of mineral processing plants

As the **Business Development Manager**, you will directly be responsible for driving the strategic approach to developing new business. You will be the primary contact for contract matters, and you will manage the relationship between the client and Primero Americas. You will be responsible for seeking information and feedback from client, then provide leadership, advice and support services to the organisation on pricing, contract strategy, tendering, and closeout of contracts. This role will be front and centre in increasing brand awareness in North America, increase the number of qualified RFP received per year and develop a stronger pipeline.

The Business Development Manager reports directly to the General Manager - Canada.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop leads and opportunities;
- Attend conferences and minerals processing events;
- Develop and maintain relationship with decision makers;
- Reporting the progress on a monthly basis.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the BD and tendering.
- Develop and assist with presenting the strategic and annual business plans to the Steering Committee for approval.
- Implement the Steering Committee’ policies and strategies.
- Manage resources efficiently and effectively to achieve the company’s objectives.
- Coordinate and support Proposal preparation.
- Contribute to operations meetings.
- Take a leadership role in establishing and developing the company’s culture and values.
- Ensure that there is a fit between strategy and culture, and the company’s processes and structure.
- Review current work practices related to company BD.
- Meet all role-specific HSE and Quality responsibilities, accountabilities and KPIs detailed in the Primero HSE Management System Manual and Quality Management Plan.

**Profile we are looking for**:

- 5+ years' Business Development experience within the Minerals Processing and Mining sector;
- Strong Canadian/American network with Engineering mandate decision makers;
- Experience in developing Engineering services proposal
- Understanding of Mineral Processing pre-Study to execution reporting cycles, financing and environmental requirements, specifically NI 43-101, JORC and SK-1300.
- Ability to understand the maturity of an exploration project vs project development (lead quality assessment).
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering (specificallyCivil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical or Process engineering degrees)
- Demonstrable understanding of applicable legislations.
- Understanding of AACE estimating Classifications.
- Proven success in contract negotiation and management.
- Well versed in the commercial viability (cost control, budgets, outcomes, terms and conditions) of projects.
- Previous involvement in CMP, CIM, SME or other mineral processing organisation.

**Position details**:
