Sweet Thea Bakery on Main Street is excited about our new location at 32nd and Main.

With all brand new equipment, we are looking for an experienced food professional who is inspired to work on our light, bakery-forward food service, with experience in light breakfast, sandwiches, and soups. We are a 'scratch' bakery - using real ingredients - so we are looking for someone with similar experience; this is not a fast-food style assembly station, we need someone with a real understanding of hearty-but-simple food preparation. You must have good knife skills, move efficiently and quickly, have culinary training and experience in catering or non-chain restaurant service.

No deep fryers, a bright and dynamic environment, and - best of all - you will be home by 6pm. We use only clean whole ingredients for a very popular line of sourdough breads, pastries, and savory baking. We have about 24 seats inside, and are already busy.

We are looking for someone with experience in building to-go sandwiches, soups, and light kitchen service; someone with previous experience in a similar environment will be given preference.

Weekend shifts will be necessary. We will not review resumes with only fast-food or ethnic food experience, or resumes from outside the lower mainland.

**Responsibilities**:

- Co-managing an effective kitchen - clean and organized
- Food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to recipes and quality standards
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working in a similar role in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- has gone to culinary school
- Solid knowledge of kitchen operations and food handling procedures
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
