Mix The Bakery is a locally loved artisan bakery café known for our handcrafted sandwiches, scratch-made soups, and high-quality baked goods. We are looking for a reliable, organized, and positive Sandwich & Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys early mornings and working in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality sandwiches according to Mix The Bakery standards
- Assist with daily soup preparation, including chopping, measuring, and cooking support
- Portion, label, and organize ingredients for daily service
- Support catering production (sandwich platters, lunch boxes, fruit/cheese platters, etc.)
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Follow all food safety procedures and uphold Mix The Bakery quality expectations
- Restock items and assist with morning setup and daily closing tasks
- Communicate effectively with team members and management
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen, deli, or prep cook experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with a 5:30 AM start time
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Food Safe Level 1 (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 20–30 lbs and stand for extended periods
