Reporting to the Director, Innovation and Change Management, you will be the primary communications liaison supporting all aspects of CapitalCare’s communication and public relations needs. Working closely with the Centres and other Departments you are responsible for the planning, development and implementation of CapitalCare’s marketing strategies, communication, and public relations activities based on the strategic plan and CapitalCare’s operational needs.

As the Manager, Communications and Public Relations you will be responsible for ensuring the sustainability of CapitalCare’s positive community profile and credibility. You will manage CapitalCare’s online and offline communication with internal and external stakeholders and increase brand awareness. When in this position you are responsible for the planning, development, and distribution of promotional material, responding to stakeholder inquiries and comments on social media and networking.

You will work in collaboration with Alberta Health Services (AHS) and maintain an effective working relationship with the media and community in the interests of CapitalCare and are responsible for media monitoring and environmental scanning. As the Manager, Communications and Public relations, you will ensure that all communication promotes the CapitalCare mission of providing person-centred care with dignity and kindness.
**Qualifications**

**Education**:
A degree in a communications related field is preferred, Bachelor of Communication Studies (journalism), Bachelor of Design. Post
- Secondary Diploma in communications, public relations or related field maybe considered. Active member of I.A.B.C. or C.P.R.S
**Experience**:
Minimum of seven years related experience in the field of communications and /or public relations, writing and editing is required.

Knowledge of the healthcare industry is an asset.

An equivalent combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.
Related Knowledge:
Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required Knowledge of desktop publishing and basic administrative skills is preferred

Knowledge of website design and development is an asset
