**Job Title**: Supervisor.

**Full time**: 35 hours/week, Monday to Friday. Salary: $53,436 - $71,248

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for overseeing the overall operation of Before and After school programs throughout Barrie and area, ensuring compliance with all internal and external guidelines. Mentor and lead staff to facilitate the delivery of high quality programs to children, youth and families in a safe, integrated and supportive environment. Serves as a role model within the organization by demonstrating support of Upper Canada Child Care’s mission, vision and values. Represents the organization publicly in a professional and positive manner through effective and supportive communication with families and external agencies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE
- Applies professional knowledge of child development principles and ensures compliance with all legislation applicable to licensed child care.
- Supports program delivery that is consistent with Ministry Of Education pedagogy, and Upper Canada Child Care's Program Statement.
- Reviews and supports the development of program plans and classroom documentation.
- Prepares staff schedules and arranges temporary coverage where necessary to ensure legislated classroom ratios are met at all times.
- Prepares and participates in Ministry of Education inspection/licensing processes.
- Identifies children in need of external resources. Guides and supports parents through the process of accessing any external resources. Supports development and implementation of individual support plans as required; provides support and guidance to staff.
- Facilitates workshops/meetings for staff. Documents meetings and provides meeting minutes as required.
- Participates in professional development opportunities, training sessions, meetings and committees both on and off-site.
- Carries out established recruitment procedures and supports the onboarding and orientation of new staff, students, and volunteers.
- Facilitates effective and timely communication with families, including the production and/or review of centre newsletters, calendars, and postings.
- Arranges centre tours for families and placement students.
- Carries out all aspects of child enrolment, including the collection, recording and maintenance of personal information and financial records.
- Ensures accurate payroll data entry; communicates with Payroll department as needed.
- Supports the process of conflict resolution with parents, staff and students.
- Prepares/delivers performance reviews for staff and supports established goals/objectives. Encourages professional development by identifying and sourcing appropriate learning and mentorship opportunities
- Administers progressive disciplinary processes, including observation, documentation and meeting with staff members as required; communicates with People and Talent department as needed.
- Serves as a coach and mentor to all staff members.
- Responsible for effective marketing and promotion of programs.
- Liaison with appropriate personnel from government bodies and community agencies and responds to their directives (e.g. public health reporting & sample collection, Children’s Aid Society, police, Children’s Services).
- Maintains and/or collects child attendance records for subsidy purposes and submits reports to Children’s Services as required.
- Oversees the maintenance of petty cash; monitors inventory and spending, and balances approved budgets.
