Hood Packaging is currently recruiting for a Machine Operator Trainee for our Calgary Plastics location.
- Daily operation of all material handling equipment.
- Manage WIP and consumable movement between the warehouse and production.
- Collect and prepares finished goods for shipping/storage.
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming shipments for damage, tampering, and discrepancies. Report issues to supervisor or designate.
- Deliver to, or notify, the appropriate department of any received items - including production, maintenance and office staff.
- Load and unload trailers.
- Resolve F/G’s labelling and inventory errors prior to product storage or shipment.
- Properly handle and store all hazardous goods.
- Organize and maintain North pallet storage area.
- Organize and maintain Warehouse and WIP storage areas.
- Stage product for all outbound shipments.
- Ability to successfully perform all shipping and receiving functions as needed.
- Other duties as required.
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Several years of related experience
- Organizational, communication, and attention to detail skills required.
- Ability to operate forklift.
- Computer literacy required.

Must be able to speak, read, write and comprehend English.

Starting wage 26.15 per hour with step increase to $29.06 after 528 hours

This position will entail rotating 12 hours continental shifts (days only 7am-7pm)

This is an excellent opportunity offering competitive wages with step increases at 6,18 & 36 months plus annual increase, company paid benefits after 3 months and a pension plan, all included in the Labour Agreement
