Shipper and Receiver

P.S.I. Fluid Power Ltd., a SunSource Company, has a great opportunity available for a Shipper Receiver to join our Calgary team The primary objective of this position is to manage the flow of goods coming into and out of the warehouse. Other key duties include providing internal support to our sales team and service department.

Purpose / Scope

The Shipper / Receiver is responsible for ensure ensuring accurate and seamless operation of all incoming/outgoing shipments at PSI. The Shipper / Receiver must understand the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of incoming/outgoing items. Inventory management and vendor relations with shipping companies are essential functions for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the loading/unloading of goods
- Ability to receive large consolidated stock shipments
- Efficiently stock product in a timely manner once received utilizing bin locations
- Accurately match product to shipping orders
- Operate a Forklift or Electric Pallet Jack in a safe manner
- Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking of shipped product
- Oversee the secure and accurate loading of shipments
- Track shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required
- Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Perform quality audits of the condition of goods for outgoing items prior to signing off
- Regularly perform inventory cycle counts and participate in year-end inventory count
- Problem solve for any cases of missing documents, shipments, inventory and deliveries
- Prepare customer returns for shipment back to suppliers
- Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations
- Make deliveries with company vehicle as required
- Must participate in courses to update knowledge to carry out responsibilities / duties
- Ensure shop yard is organized and free of hazards
- Customer walkway snow removal
- Assist in the shop when required
- Overtime may be required
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Responsibilities for understanding and abiding by the PSI safety policy and following safe work practices
- Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

Lifting or moving up to 75 lbs

This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odours, fumes and oils

Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently

Good computer knowledge

Exercise a professional, positive and upbeat attitude

Attention to detail in all areas of work.

Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED

2 years’ work experience in Shipping and Receiving role preferred

Forklift certified

Valid driver’s license and good driving record

Working knowledge of safe lifting methods

Experience with Prophet 21 would be considered a definite asset

Organizational Relationships

Direct report to the Branch Operations Manager

Frequent interactions with customers, suppliers

Regular interaction with PSI employees and management

Pay: $35,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
